How to root Gionee Gpad G3The Gionee Gpad G3 is one of the value for money Android phablet released by Gionee back in October last year. The phablet comes with a 5.5 inches display powered by a middling 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 512MB RAM. Since the Gionee Gpad G3 comes with a price tag of just Rs 8,499, we shouldn’t complain too much about its specifications.

If you happen to own this phablet and wants to root it, then you’re definitely at the right place! In this tutorial, I will be guiding you on how to root Gionee Gpad G3 using the Framaroot app.

Prerequisites before you begin rooting Gionee Gpad G3

  1. Download the Framaroot apk to your PC.
  2. Make sure you have installed the device driver on your PC. If you have not do so, you can head down to Gionee support page and download the necessary device driver.
  3. Make sure you have fully charged the device.
  4. Go to Settings > Security > Make sure you have checked on the Unknown Sources checkbox.
  5. Back up the Gionee Gpad G3.

Follow the steps below on how to root Gionee Gpad G3

  1. Connect the Gionee Gpad G3 to your PC.
  2. Copy and paste the Framaroot apk (which you have downloaded earlier) from your PC over to the root of your device’s SD card.
  3. Open the file explorer app ( if you don’t have one on your device, then you may want to download either Astro File Manager / ES File Explorer ) and install the Framaroot apk by tapping on its icon.
  4. Open the Framaroot app on your Gionee Gpad G3 smartphone.
  5. select install Superuser in Framaroot to root Gionee Gpad G3You should see a screen similar to the one above.
  6. Select the Install Superuser option under the Select an action to execute after root section.
  7. Moving on, select the Boromir exploit. ( You can try Faramir or Barahir exploit if Boromir doesn’t work ) under the Select an exploit section.
  8. success pop up in FramarootOnce you’re done, you should see a pop-up like the one above on your device.
  9. Reboot your device.
  10. Congratulation! You’ve just rooted Gionee Gpad G3!
