How to root Jiayu G5 using Framaroot

How to root Jiayu G5The Jiayu G5 is the latest mid-range Android smartphone released by Jiayu back in November last year. The Jiayu G5 comes with a 5 inches HD display powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and 2GB RAM – making it a perfect device for entertainment and multitasking purposes. Like any other Jiayu smartphones, you can root Jiayu G5 easily using only the Framaroot app. In this tutorial, I will be guiding you guys on how to root Jiayu G5 in less than an hour.

Disclaimer : During the process of rooting, there is always a risk for you to brick your Android device. So if you choose to root your device, you are doing it at your own risk! Your device warranty will also be voided after rooting.

Prerequisites before you begin rooting Jiayu G5

  1. Download the Framaroot apk to your PC.
  2. Install the necessary device driver on your PC.
  3. Make sure you have at least 60% battery remaining on the Jiayu G5 smartphone.
  4. Go to Settings > Security > Make sure you have checked on the Unknown Sources checkbox.
  5. Back up Jiayu G5.

Follow the steps below on how to root Jiayu G5

  1. Connect the Jiayu G5 to your PC.
  2. Copy the Framaroot apk from your PC to your device’s SD card.
  3. Open the file explorer app ( if you don’t have one on your device, then you may want to download either Astro File Manager / ES File Explorer ) and install the Framaroot apk by tapping on its icon.
  4. From your app drawer, open the Framaroot app.
  5. select install Superuser in Framaroot to root Jiayu G5From the Framaroot app, select the Install Superuser option under the Select an action to execute after root section as shown above.
  6. Next up, select either Boromir or Faramir exploit to root Jiayu G5.
  7. success pop up in FramarootOnce done, you should see a pop-up like the one above on your screen.
  8. Reboot your device.
  9. Congratulation! You’ve just rooted Jiayu G5!
  10. You should be able to find a SuperSU app in your app drawer after rooting.

Does not work at all on the Jiayu G5s. Don’t waste your time.
