HTC new device codenamed “Sailfish” the new successor to Nexus 5X?

According to reports, a new HTC device codenamed “Sailfish” is purported to be the successor for the LG Nexus 5X. The codename of this device apparently falls inline in the way Google use to codename their unannounced Nexus flagships.

Just in case you do not know, the only Nexus flagship manufactured by HTC is the first Nexus One handset released back in 2010.

Even though there are still quite some time before this much anticipated handset was made official, but Android Police seems to have already got hold of some exciting details about the device’s specs sheet :

  • 5 inch 1080p screen
  • Quad-core 2.0GHz CPU
  • 4GB of RAM
  • 2,770mAh battery
  • 32GB of internal storage
  • 12MP rear camera / 8MP front camera
  • Rear mounted fingerprint scanner
  • USB Type-C port
  • Bottom firing speakers
  • Top mounted headphone jack
  • Bluetooth 4.2

However, bear in mind this alleged handset belongs to the lower-end version of the Nexus device and the higher-end version rumored to be manufactured by Huawei, will no doubt come with a more attractive specs sheet.
