Huawei FreeClip: Five Reasons Why We Love This TWS Earbuds!

Huawei is well-known for launching some of the most innovative earbuds design in the market. After impressing with the Watch Buds last year – a pair of TWS earbuds that’s hidden inside a fully functional smartwatch – the company is now back with the new FreeClip earbuds that feature a never-before-seen spherical design which promises extreme comfort as well as a top-notch listening experience for it’s user.

Hence, if you’re in the market for a new TWS earbuds, here are five big reasons why you should consider getting the new Huawei FreeClip as your next listening companion!

1) Stylish & Ergonomic Design

The exterior design of the new FreeClip is a huge departure from what we saw on Huawei’s FreeBuds series earbuds as it comes with an innovative C-bridge Design that not only looks incredibly stylish on the outside, but also offers unmatchable comfort to the wearer.

The beauty of this design lies in the fact that it doesn’t requires any ear hooks or wings to keep the earbuds in place. Instead, it relies on a component known as Comfort Bean that anchors the earbuds to the back of your ears to prevent them from slipping off during workouts.

The main component of the earbuds, the Acoustic Ball, is connected to the Comfort Bean via a short length of flexible alloy that holds the entire structure together. Unlike other earphones with an in-ear design, the acoustic ball sits right at the opening of your ear which makes them much more comfortable to wear.

To make things even better, the Huawei FreeClip also feels extremely light thanks to it’s featherlight weight of just 5.7 grams. This explains why I often found myself forgetting about it’s existence shortly after I put them on. That’s how comfortable it is to wear the Huawei FreeClip.

In terms of durability, the Huawei FreeClip is also IP54-certified for dust and water resistance. This basically means that the earbuds are able to withstand minor splash of water or even light drizzle.

2) Seamless Gesture Controls

Just like most other high-end earphones, the Huawei FreeClip also features an intuitive set of gesture controls to take care of your listening experience. These controls work like a charm, and is easy to remember and execute once you get a hang of it.

For instance, double tapping either side of the earbuds will allow you to play/ pause a music, or even answer or end a call. Likewise to skip the current track, you only have to do a triple tap on the earbud. More importantly, you can further customize the touch controls via the AI Life app if you wish to fire up new features such as waking up the voice assistant on your paired device.

This gives you total control over your listening experience without even touching your phone, and is extremely useful during a workout when your phone is kept a distance away from you.

3) Amazing Audio Experience

Backed by a 10.8 mm dual-magnet high-sensitivity driver unit, the Huawei FreeClip can get really loud whenever necessary. Sound quality on the whole is also great thanks to it’s well-balanced sound profile. The only area where the earbuds slightly fell short is the quality of bass due to the open-ear design adopted by the earbuds. Despite that, it still punches above it’s own weight considering it’s price.

One thing to note here is perhaps the absence of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) which was intentionally left out in order to allow user to retain situational awareness when wearing the earbuds. This could be beneficial for certain work environments or those who frequently cycle along roadside or crowded pathway.

4) AI Crystal-Clear Call

As a earphone designed for work professionals, the Huawei FreeClip also allows user to enjoy crystal-clear voice calls as the earbuds feature a delicate microphone system that works in tandem with a multi-channel deep neural network (DNN) algorithm to effectively pick out voices from ambient noises.

On top of that, it also has a sophisticated reverse sound waves system built inside the acoustic ball to minimize sound leakage for a more private listening experience.

5) Long-lasting Battery Life

Apart from it’s amazing audio performance, the Huawei FreeClip also impresses with it’s exceptional battery life. The earbuds alone is able to support up to 8 hours listening time on a single charge, with an additional 28 hours listening time if you take into account of it’s charging case.

As far as charging is concerned, a short 10 minutes charge is sufficient to provide you with around 3 hours listening time, while a full charge takes slightly less than an hour. To help user keep track of the battery level remaining in the charging case, a tiny light indicator is present on the outside of the charging case that shows three colors – Red, Yellow and Green – each depicting different levels of battery remaining in the charging case.
