In the last couple of weeks, we’d witnessed quite a number of mid-ranger smartphone launches from Vivo, OPPO and Honor. Today, its finally Huawei’s turn to unleash their latest Huawei Nova 7 smartphone series which include the Huawei Nova 7, Nova 7 SE and Nova 7 Pro.

Huawei Nova 7 Pro

As usual, let’s begin with the highest-end model among the trio – Huawei Nova 7 Pro. At the front, the device features a 6.57-inches curved OLED display with FHD+ screen resolution. The dual hole-punched compartment on the top-left corner is home to a 32 megapixels main shooter and an 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens. Moreover, there will also be an in-display fingerprint sensor as well.

Over on its flip-side, the Nova 7 Pro touts a quad-camera setup consisting of a 64 megapixels main camera, 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, 8 megapixels telephoto lens, as well as a 2 megapixels macro camera. The telephoto lens of its rear camera system is able to achieve up to 5x optical zoom, and as much as 50x digital zoom.

Under the hood, the Huawei Nova 7 Pro is driven by the latest kirin 985 platform coupled with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. Moreover, the device is able to support both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) 5G modes as well.

To keep its lights on, there is a respectable 4,000mAh battery which is capable of supporting up to 40W fast-charging. The device will be shipped with the latest EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10 OS (AOSP version). As always, it will run on Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) in place of the mainstream Google Mobile Services (GMS).

In terms of pricing, the Nova 7 Pro will be priced at 3,699 Yuan (US$523) and 4,099 Yuan (US$579) respectively for its 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB models.

The telephoto lens however, has a shorter focal length which allows it to achieve only up to 3x optical zoom and 30x digital zoom.

Similar to the Huawei Nova 7 Pro, the Nova 7 will also be driven by the same Kirin 985 SoC paired with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB onboard storage. Likewise, the same 4,000mAh battery with 40W fast-charging could be found in the Huawei Nova 7 as well.

Its front display measures 6.5-inches and has a FHD+ screen resolution. Its selfie camera will be a toned down 16 megapixels sensor which is housed within the hole-punched cut-out.

As for its rear cameras, it will still be featuring a quad-camera array. This includes a 64 megapixels main camera, 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, 2 megapixels macro camera and a 2 megapixels depth sensor. More notably, the telephoto lens present on the Nova 7 and Nova 7 Pro has been substituted with a macro camera on the Nova 7 SE.
