Huawei P40 Pro Camera Details Revealed Through Closed Door Meeting

Huawei will be launching the Huawei P40 series on March 26 through an online launch event. Rivaling brands like Samsung and Xiaomi have launched their flagship phones with topnotch cameras. Huawei’s photography centric P40 series is expected to deliver better photography experience. Through a closed door meeting, Huawei shared vital information on the camera prowess of the Huawei P40 Pro from the company itself to some journalists. The company also revealed some other details on the P40 series.

The Huawei P40 as well as the Huawei P40 Pro will be sporting second generation periscope zoom camera. The predecessor Huawei P30 Pro offered 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom and 50x digital zoom. The P40 Pro with its second gen periscope lens is expected to offer better optical zoom capabilities.

Currently, some of the flagship phone supports maximum hybrid zoom of 10x. In order to explain the zooming capabilities of the P40 Pro, the company spoke about how an eagle can spot its prey from a distance of around 3 kms with great clarity. There is a possibility that the P40 Pro may offer higher hybrid zoom than what’s available on current flagships. Also, the phone will offer never before seen AI capabilities.

The P40 series will continue to feature RYYB filter that was introduced in the P30 series last year. Also, the P40 models will be arriving in new material options. However, the company did not confirm on the exact materials.

The Chinese firm allowed journalists to experience the Huawei P40 Pro phone that was kept inside a sensory device. Those who could touch it claimed that it had a large camera bump and a curved display. The company also revealed that it is actively working on growing its AppGallery which is currently the third largest app store with 400 million active users in across more than 170 countries.
