iQOO Neo 9 series’ pre-sale starts strong in China, surpassing Neo 8 series by 200%

Yesterday, iQOO held a launch event in China to unveil the iQOO Neo 9 and Neo 9 Pro smartphones. iQOO has announced a phenomenal start to the pre-sale of the iQOO Neo 9 series in the home market. The brand confirmed that on the first day, pre-orders surged to an impressive 200 percent of the deposit pre-sale for the iQOO Neo 8 series during the same period.

The iQOO Neo 9 starts at 2,299 Yuan ($320), whereas the Pro model has a starting price of 2,999 Yuan ($420). Both phones are available in three color options, such as Nautical Blue, Fighting Black, and Red & White Soul. The company will carry out the first sale of both smartphones on Dec. 30 in China.

The iQOO Neo 9 and Neo 9 Pro are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Dimensity 9300 chipsets, respectively. The standard model has a 50-megapixel (Sony IMX920 with OIS) + 8-megapixel dual-camera system on the back, whereas the Pro variant has the same primary camera and a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 ultra-wide camera. The rest of the specifications are identical on both devices.

On the front, the iQOO Neo 9 series has a 6.78-inch OLED panel that offers a 1.5K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. Both phones pack a 5,160mAh battery with 120W fast charging.

The Neo 9 series runs on Android 14 and OriginOS 4. Both phones have a 16-megapixel camera on the front for selfies and video calls.

In related news, the iQOO Neo 9 is expected to launch in the global market, including India, in January 2024. The Neo 9 may likely get rebranded as the Neo 9 Pro in markets outside of China.
