Last week, Meizu has announced that the company will be holding a Meizu 17-related online event on April 17th which sparked speculations that the device may be made official during the event. Sadly, the company did not announced the device today, but rather, they’d confirmed that the Meizu 17 will be made official on April 22nd.
Other than confirming the launch date of the device, Meizu had also released a promo poster which revealed the device’s front design as well. This poster corroborates earlier rumors that the Meizu 17 will be arriving with a hole-punched display. Since the device has an in-display fingerprint sensor, it is safe to assume that the Meizu 17 will feature an AMOLED display this time round.
Besides the Meizu 17, the company may also announce a “Pro” version of the device during the same launch event. According to reports out of China, the Meizu 17 is said to carry the model number M081Q, while the Meizu 17 Pro is expected to carry the model number M091Q. Both these devices had already been certified by the Chinese 3C authority which revealed that the Meizu 17 will come with 30W fast-charging support, while the “Pro” version has an upgraded 40W fast-charging support.
Both devices however, are expected to be driven by the latest Snapdragon 865 platform which allows the devices to support both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) 5G modes. As usual, they are also likely to come with typical flagship features including high screen refresh rate, LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0/ 3.1 flash storage technology.
