Initially, the Meizu M6S was thought to be announced today after the company released a promotional poster earlier this week which claimed that a new smartphone with 18:9 fullscreen display is coming on January 4th. However, what the company actually mean is that they will be unveiling the launch date of the Meizu M6S on January 4th instead of announcing the device on the day.
Right now, it has been officially confirmed that the highly anticipated Meizu M6S will be announced on January 17th in China. Sad to say, no other details were revealed from the press invite.
For those who’d missed out, we reported another leaked image of the Meizu M6S on Monday which carries the model number M1712 which had already been certified by the Chinese TENAA authority. Keeping in mind that most Chinese smartphones are usually certified weeks ahead of their official unveiling, it is highly likely that this handset is the upcoming Meizu M6S.
According to rumors, the Meizu M6S is expected to sport a 5.7-inches display with 18:9 screen aspect ratio. The device is rumored to be powered by a Exynos 7872 SoC with 3GB of RAM as well as 32GB worth of internal storage space. Camera-wise, there will be a 13 megapixels main snapper at the back as well as a 5 megapixels front-facing selfie cam.
