Mysterious Honor Phone with Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, 6000mAh Battery in Works

Honor will host a global event at the 2023 Mobile World Congress (MWC) on February 27 to announce the Magic 5 series of smartphones as well as the Honor Magic V foldable phone. It appears that it could be planning to launch a midrange phone with a new Qualcomm chipset in the home market. A Chinese tipster has leaked the key specifications of the device.

In September 2022, Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 mobile platforms. The iQOO Z6 Lite (Indian variant) and the Redmi Note 12 5G have already featured the SD4G1 chip. However, none of the smartphone brands has launched an SD6G1 phone. It appears that Honor could become the first brand to launch such a smartphone.

The new leak reveals that Honor is working on a mid-range phone powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC. This phone will come equipped with an OLED panel. The image shared by the tipster suggests that the OLED screen will have a punch-hole and curved edges.

The device will come equipped with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. It will have a massive 6,000 mAh battery. There is no information on the phone’s fast charging capabilities or cameras. Moreover, there is no word on its final name.

The tipster claimed that the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 Honor phone has entered the final debugging stage. This suggests that it may not take too long for it to go official.
