New mysterious Xiaomi STRAKZ handset appeared in Geekbench

Earlier today, a new Xiaomi smartphone dubbed as STRAKZ had been spotted on Geekbench along with some of its key specs. As of now, there isn’t much details on what this upcoming mid- ranger handset could be since most of the recent rumors have been focusing on the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 7 flagship instead.

According to the Geekbench listing, the Xiaomi STRAKZ will be coming with a Snapdragon 625 SoC alongside 4GB of RAM. Although the listing stated a multi-core score of just 1536 points, but we believe that it could be a software bug since most of the Snapdragon 625-powered handsets with 4GB RAM should score around 4,000 points like the Moto G5 Plus and Asus Zenfone 3. Furthermore, it also listed it base frequency as 0GHz, which reaffirms that there’s certainly an error during the benchmarking process. That aside, the STRAKZ is also expected on the Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

Who knows, perhaps this mysterious handset could be announced alongside the Xiaomi Mi 7 which is expected to debut somewhere during the end of the month.
