Earlier today, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun posted a couple of Mi 5S photo samples which indirectly confirmed that the upcoming smartphone the company is currently prepping will indeed be named as the Mi 5S, even new rumors circulated yesterday seems to suggest otherwise.
Similarly, the Chinese smartphone giant has also sent out another teaser for the Mi 5S which dropped some hint that the device will be coming with a jet black ceramic body this time round. Even though the direct translation of the Chinese characters brought us to a bright black / shiny black hue, but we do expect it to be something akin to iPhone’s 7 Jet Black.
After having a quick glance at the teaser, it is also obvious that the Mi 5S may be featuring a slightly curved display screen for its front panel as well.
So far, Xiaomi has already revealed several key features of the upcoming Mi 5S and most of them had already been touted by a leaked teaser back in July this year.
Specifications
From what we have gathered so far, the Xiaomi Mi 5S is expected to feature a 5.15? FHD display with 3D touch support coupled with Qualcomm’s brand-new Snapdragon Sense ID, ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. Other alleged specs also include a massive 6GB RAM, 256GB internal storage, 16 megapixel main snapper at the back which is paired with a 13 megapixel front-facing camera for selfie purposes.
Pricing
The device is rumored to come in 2 versions, namely Mi 5S as well as Mi 5S Plus. The former will come with a 6GB+128GB configuration and is expected priced at RMB1,999 (~$299), while the higher-end 6GB+256GB model will be priced at RMB2,299 (~$344) instead.
