OnePlus 18W Charger Receives Certification; Cheaper Nord Phone Could be Coming Soon

The recent flagship phones from OnePlus come with 30W fast charging capabilities. The OnePlus Nord upper mid-range phone that debuted recently also come with 30W fast charging support. Recent reports have revealed that the Chinese firm may launch more affordable Nord series phones later this year. An 18W charger by OnePlus has received certification from TUV Rheinland. This indicates that the company could indeed be working on phones that will be positioned lower than the OnePlus Nord.

As can be seen in the screenshot, the new OnePlus charger supports 9V/2A fast charging. This charger may accompany one or more Nord series phones in the near future.

There are rumors that OnePlus is working on a Snapdragon 690 SoC powered smartphone. The handset is said to be codenamed as Billie and it is associated with model names like BE2025, BE2026, BE2027, and BE2029. It is speculated that the handset could be available in two variants.

Another leak had revealed had suggested that the next OnePlus Nord based model may feature a dual camera setup on its rear whereas the higher model could be fitted with a triple camera system. Rumors have it that the OnePlus Billie phone with SD690 may break cover in the U.S. later this year. Hopefully, newer leaks will reveal more details of the rumored Nord series phone.

OnePlus Nord Specifications

The OnePlus Nord has a 6.44-inch S-AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate support. The Snapdragon 765G SoC fuels the device with up to 12 GB of RAM. It has up to 256 GB of storage and runs on OxygenOS 10 based Android 10 OS. The phone features a 32-megapixel dual selfie camera and a 48-megapixel quad-camera system.  The handset has a 4,115mAh battery with 30W fast charging support.
