Poco M2 Pro Receive Wi-Fi Alliance and Bluetooth SIG Certifications

Rumors have it that Poco is preparing a new smartphone called Poco M2 Pro. It is speculated that it could be a phone that is exclusively designed for Indian markets. The moniker was first spotted on Xiaomi India’s official RF exposure page. It revealed that the model number of the smartphone is M2003J6CI. At that time, it was speculated that the phone may have something in common with Redmi Note 9 Pro that has a model number of M2003J6A1I and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max that has M2003J6B1I model number. It is rumored to be codenamed as “gram.” The same model number has received approvals from Bluetooth SIG and Wi-Fi Alliance certification platforms.

The Bluetooth SIG listing states that the Poco M2 Pro phone is running on MIUI 11 and it carries support for Bluetooth 5.0. The handset is listed under other Note 9 series models such as Redmi Note 9S, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, and Redmi Note 9 Pro.

The Wi-Fi certification reveals that the smartphone supports dual-band Wi-Fi and it is equipped with Android 10 OS. The listing carries the name and model number of the smartphone. Usually, devices that receive Bluetooth SIG certification are known to go official within a month. Hence, there is a possibility that the Poco M2 Pro may debut within the first half of the year.

Rumors have it that the Poco M2 Pro could be powered by the Snapdragon 720G. The Redmi Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max are both powered by Snapdragon 720G. There is a possibility that the Poco M2 Pro may sport a design that similar to the Note 9 Pro and Pro Max phones.

The specifications of the Poco M2 Pro are under wraps. Hopefully, the rumor mill will leak more information on the smartphone in the weeks.
