The Snapdragon 865 SoC is the 5G-ready chipset from Qualcomm for powering flagship smartphones. For mid-ranger phones, the U.S. based chipset maker offers Snapdragon 765 and Snapdragon 765G solutions. There is no 5G chipset from the company that can power mid-range smartphones. Fresh information shared by a reliable tipster from China states that Qualcomm is readying a new Snapdragon 6 series 5G chip.
The final product name of the upcoming Snapdragon 6 series 5G SoC is not known yet. The leakster has revealed its model number of sm6350. The chipset has two large CPU cores working at 2.246GHz and six small CPU cores clocking at 1.804GHz. It may include a Cortex-A77 CPU.
He also revealed that competitor brands like MediaTek and Kirin are also preparing 5G chipsets for powering budget-friendly devices. It appears that the MediaTek MT6853 5G and Kirin 720 5G chipsets may go official in the near future.
The MT66853 SoC is said to be less powerful than the Dimensity 800 SoC. There is no information available on the specifications of the rumored Kirin 720 5G SoC.

The Exynos 880 5G arriving in the near future is said to be an under-clocked edition of the Exynos 980 5G SoC that is designed to power upper-midrange phones.
