Purported Google Pixel Fold 2’s leaked image reveals design changes

Google Pixel Fold 2 is said to be in the works and is likely to launch at some point this year. Recently, Android Authority revealed the key specification of the device based on the information obtained from an anonymous source. The publication is now back with a new report that gives a first look at the device through a leaked image.

As per the publication, the Pixel Fold 2’s leaked image reveals that it has a square-shaped look when unfolded. On the inside, it has a punch-hole camera at the upper-right corner and its edges are made up of aluminum. Unfortunately, the display size of the device has not been revealed.

The leaked image shows that the camera module design of the Pixel Fold 2 is completely different from its predecessor. Instead of a horizontal camera visor, the cameras of the Pixel Fold 2 are clustered at the top-left corner.

Since the device is enclosed in a case, the actual device of the camera module cannot be seen. However, it appears that the device has four camera units, which possibly include a primary camera, an ultra-wide shooter, and a periscope telephoto camera.

There is no clarity about the fourth unit. Hence, it remains to be seen whether it is a flicker sensor, a built-in thermometer like the Pixel 8 series or a fourth camera. The camera module also has an LED flash and a microphone.

As far as specs are concerned, the Pixel Fold 2 may feature the existing Tensor G3 chipset or a new chip codenamed “zumapro,” which is believed to be the Tensor G4. The device is also expected to arrive with 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The other specs of the Pixel Fold 2 are yet to be revealed.
