Realme GT 5G to Launch on March 4

In December 2020, Realme confirmed that it will be launching the Snapdragon 888 powered flagship phone in 2021. The company did not reveal the name of the device and only teased its features by using the ‘Race’ codename. Recent reports claimed that the device may arrive in the Chinese market as the Realme GT. Today, Realme CMO Xu Qi took to Weibo to confirm that the Realme GT will debut on March 4 in the home market.

The poster released by the brand has no information on the specs of the Realme GT 5G. It only states that the unveiling event will be held on the said date at 2 PM (local time).

Recently, a handset with model number RMX2202 was spotted at TENAA. It is believed that this handset will be released in the Chinese market as the Realme GT. The specifications of the phone have not yet appeared at TENAA. However, the images of the phone that was found listed in TENAA’s database revealed it has a punch-hole display and its back panel has a rectangle-shaped camera module and a ‘GT’ branding.

Reports have revealed that the Realme GT is equipped with 12 GB of RAM, 256 GB of native storage, and Realme UI 2.0 based Android 11 OS. It is speculated to feature a 64-megapixel primary camera. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, it will be available in glass and plain leather editions.

There could be an advanced version of the smartphone that may feature a 6.81-inch 3K OLED screen with a 160Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 888 SoC, 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, up to 512 GB of storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 125W fast charging support. With two weeks remaining for the launch, Realme is expected to reveal features of the Realme GT smartphone in the coming days.
