Last week, Realme held a launch event in China to announce the Realme GT flagship smartphone. At 00:00 AM (local time) today in China, the company carried out the first sales of the Realme GT smartphone. Soon after making it available for buying, the company confirmed that the sales of the Realme GT exceeded 100 million Yuan mark in just seconds.
Realme GT’s base model that has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB storage is priced at 2,899 Yuan ($445), whereas the higher edition with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB storage costs 3,399 Yuan ($522). During the first sale, both variants were made available with discounted price tags of 2,799 Yuan ($430) and 3,299 Yuan ($507), respectively. This equates to between 30,312 to 35,727 units sold during its debut sale.
Realme GT Specifications
The Realme GT has a 6.43-inch S-AMOLED display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a Full HD+ resolution. It has a front-facing camera of 16-megapixel.
The rear-mounted camera module has a 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens with 119-degree FOV, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The smartphone boots to Realme UI 2.0 based Android 11 OS.
The Snapdragon 888 mobile platform powers the Realme GT with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The 4,500mAh battery of the smartphone supports 65W rapid charging. For security, it features an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
At the unveiling event of the Realme GT, the company also confirmed that it will be soon introducing a new phone called the Realme GT Neo. The Dimensity 1200 chipset will be powering the handset. Speculations are rife that it may break cover by the end of this month or early April.
