In the previous week, Redmi revealed that it will be launching the Redmi K40 series in February. Likewise, the company had also confirmed that the K40 series will be arriving with a starting price of 2,999 Yuan ($462).
Now, a new Weibo post by Redmi Product Director Wang Teng Thomas suggests that the company will not be launching just the Snapdragon 888 powered smartphone in the coming month. Hence, there’s a possibility that there might be a slightly lower-end model within the upcoming K40 series which could be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity chipset.
Last year, Redmi launched the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom edition alongside the Redmi K30 Pro in China. It is unclear whether the Redmi K40 model could be accompanied by a Zoom edition variant. Hopefully, the company will reveal more details on the upcoming Redmi K40 series phones in the coming days.
The Redmi K40 Pro series teaser that the company released last week revealed that it will be equipped with the most expensive flat display. It is yet to be confirmed whether the handset will be featuring an LCD or AMOLED panel. Rumors are rife that the K40 Pro could be sporting a punch-hole display that will deliver a refresh rate of 120Hz.
It is also known that the Redmi K40 Pro’s battery will be larger than 4,000mAh capacity. Previous leaks have claimed that it may arrive with support for 33W fast charging.
