Redmi Karna Phone with 144Hz Display and 64MP Camera in Works

Redmi launched the Redmi K30i 5G silently today after unveiling the Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition smartphone earlier this month. The company will be announcing the Redmi 10X series tomorrow that includes Redmi 10X 4G, Redmi 10X 5G, and Redmi 10X Pro 5G smartphones. Fresh information reveals that the company is working on a new high-end phone that is codenamed as Karna.

A Chinese tipster has claimed that the Redmi Karna is slated to break cover in July. The final product name of the device is not known yet. It remains to be seen whether it arrives as the successor for Redmi K30 Pro. The only gripe with the K30 Pro was that it featured a 60Hz refresh rate screen whereas as flagship phones from competitors brands offered 90Hz or higher refresh rates. It is said that the Redmi Karna will support a 144Hz refresh rate.

The iQOO Z1 is the first-ever phone to feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000+ 5G chipset that went official recently. The Redmi Karna is expected to feature the same SoC. The other details of the smartphone are currently under wraps.

In related news, the Karna codename was found in the code of MIUI 12 firmware. The above-shown screen gives a hint that the Redmi Karna will have a 64-megapixel lens. It is likely to feature the Sony IMX686 sensor. The smartphone is also speculated to come with a pop-up selfie camera.

Hopefully, more details on the Redmi Karna smartphone will appear in the near future.
