Samsung is reportedly working on its first smartphone with pop-up selfie camera; Here’s how it looks

Following the footsteps of Chinese OEMs including OPPO, Xiaomi and Huawei, Samsung will soon be announcing the company’s first-ever smartphone with a pop-up selfie camera. This information came directly from reputable leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer, and therefore could be taken with great certainty.

Besides dropping these information, Steve had also partnered with the folks over at Pigtou to bring us our first look at this upcoming handset. As seen from the renders, this device will not be featuring those typical dewdrop or hole-punched design on its front panel. That’s because there is no longer a need for any cut-out to house its selfie camera thanks to the pop-up camera module. It will however, maintain a pretty huge chin towards the bottom of the device.

According to the same report, the device’s front display is said to measure approximately 6.5-inches diagonally. Moreover, it will also come with an overall footprint which measures approximately 183.5 x 77.0 x 9.2 mm.

Over at the back, the device will rock a triple-camera array arranged in a vertical fashion. It will be accompanied with a LED flash as well as a rear mounted fingerprint sensor. In fact, its rear design looks quite similar as those we seen among A-series smartphones, except for its subtle curves along the two sides.

As of now, its official specs and launch date remain under the wraps. However, it is expected to be made official in the coming months.
