Several reports have claimed that MediaTek is working on a new chipset dubbed the Dimensity 9400e to rival Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. Today, the brand confirmed that it will hold a launch event in collaboration with OnePlus on May 14. Speculations are rife that the Dimensity 9400e will debut tomorrow and the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition will be the first phone to feature it.
Dimensity 9400e could be incoming

The Dimensity 9400e chip rumours suggest that it will be a refined version of the existing Dimensity 9300 Plus chipset. Therefore, the D9400e may include a prime CPU core working at 3.40GHz, three performance cores operating at 2.85GHz, and four efficiency cores clocking at 2.0GHz. For graphics, it may feature the Immortalis-G720 MC12 GPU.
Since the new chip is expected to have the CPU and GPU as the D9300+, it may come with specific optimisations that will offer an enhanced gaming experience. The OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition is not the only phone to feature the new chip. It is speculated that the same Vivo S30 Pro Mini and the Realme Neo 7 Pro that are expected to debut soon in China will also feature the D9400e chip.
A couple of Dimensity 9400e phones are also expected to debut in markets outside of China. The Realme GT 7, debuting globally on May 27, will feature the D9400e chip. The said chip will also power the likes of the Vivo X200 FE and the OnePlus Nord 5, which are said to be based on the Vivo S30 Pro Mini and OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition, respectively.
The OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition is expected to debut within this month in China. The company will also announce the Dimensity 9400 Plus-powered Ace 5 Ultra alongside it.
