Vivo APEX 2020 to launch on February 28

Through Weibo, Vivo has confirmed that it will be holding a launch event on Feb. 28. The event will be used to announce its next concept phone called Vivo APEX 2020. Since companies are avoiding offline launch events in China, the Feb. 28 unveil event for APEX 2020 concept could be an online-only event.

The posters released by the Chinese firm reveals few features of the upcoming APEX 2020. The handset will be sporting a 120Hz refresh rate screen. Like the predecessor APEX concept phones, it will most likely sport a notch-less display. The other image showcases the rear design of the smartphone. It has a circular camera module with a squarish lens inside which could be a powerful periscope telephoto lens.

It is speculated that the APEX 2020 will be the first Android smartphone to come equipped with a gimbal-like stabilization technology. There is no word on the specifications of the smartphone. It remains to be seen whether the phone comes with a port-less design. Nothing is known on the specifications of the smartphone yet.

Vivo was supposed to showcase the APEX 2020 concept phone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) tech trade show which was recently canceled due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak. It is now confirmed that the APEX 2020 will be unveiled on Feb. 28 in the home market.

Apart from the APEX 2020, the Chinese firm is gearing up to launch the Vivo Z6 mid-range 5G phone in China. It is so far known that the phone has a Snapdragon 765G chipset, a massive 5,000mAh battery that will be equipped with 44W fast charging technology.
