Earlier this month, a Chinese tipster claimed that Vivo would not be launching the Vivo S16 series in China this year. Instead, the Vivo X90 series will be the major launch event from the brand, which will be held in December this year. The tipster has now returned with some more information on the processor that will power the Vivo S16 lineup.
According to the tipster, the Vivo S16 series will include three models, such as the Vivo S16e, S16, and S16 Pro. The tipster claimed that the S16e will feature the Dimensity 1080 and the S16 will have the Snapdragon 870.
The Vivo S16 Pro will be powered by the Dimensity 8200 chipset. The leak also says that the Pro model will have the Vivo V1+ chip, which will probably allow users to capture better shots.
At the same time, another tipster has revealed the color variants of the Vivo S16 and S16e. According to the tipster, the S16e will come in black, blue, and purple, whereas the S16 will be available in black, green, and orange gold.
Unfortunately, there is no information available on the specifications of the Vivo S16e, S16, and S16 Pro. As mentioned above, the S16 series may not launch this year. This indicates that the S16 lineup could be one of the first Vivo phones to arrive next in China. Hence, it is expected to debut in Q1 next year.
In related news, Vivo is expected to announce the Vivo X90, X90 Pro, and X90 Pro+ in December this year. The X90 Pro+ is expected to come in Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Dimensity 9200 chipset variants. Both Pro and Pro+ models are expected to feature a 1-inch camera sensor.
