Vivo is said to be working on its first clamshell phone with a foldable screen. While there is no official confirmation from the brand, the device is tentatively called the Vivo X Flip. A tipster from China has shared a new image to reveal the design of the X Flip.
The image shared by the tipster shows that the Vivo X Flip will have a 1080p display on the front. On the right is a volume rocker, and the regressed button below it seems to be a side-facing fingerprint scanner.
Moving to the back, the bottom half of the Vivo X Fold features the branding of the company. In the upper half, there is a round-shaped camera module at the top-left corner, which seemingly houses a triple camera unit along with ZEISS branding. A horizontal LED flash unit seems to be available on the right. Below the camera module is the large secondary screen, which offers 682 pixels of resolution.
The tipster claims that the Vivo X Flip looks like the Vivo X90 with a foldable display and clamshell design. Unfortunately, the tipster has not revealed anything about the specifications of the Vivo X Flip. Previous reports have claimed that the X Flip will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. It is expected to release in the first half of 2023.
In related news, Vivo is gearing up to launch the Vivo X90 series in the global market. Speculations are rife that the global launch of these devices will take place on Feb. 3. The X90 Pro+, which also belongs to the X90 family, may not release in markets outside of China.
