Vivo is expected to announce the Vivo X Fold+ foldable phone by the end of this month in China. A confirmation on its launch date may appear in the next few days through its Weibo handle. Ahead of the expected launch, Jia Jingdong, who is Vivo’s Vice President and General Manager of Brand and Product Strategy, has not only confirmed the moniker of the device but also released an image to give a glimpse of its red variant.
Jia revealed that the Vivo X Fold+, like the original X Fold, features a 120Hz internal and external display, which has received 19 DisplayMate A+ certifications. The screen can be folded at 30-degree, 90-degree, and 120-degree angles. Both displays have an ultra-sonic in-screen fingerprint scanner.
The company has teamed up with ZEISS for an enhanced photography experience. He confirmed that the device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.
As compared to the Vivo X Fold, the upcoming Plus edition packs a 130mAh larger battery, meaning, it houses a 4,730mAh battery. The X Fold+ will have support for 80W wired and 50W wireless charging.
Leaks have revealed that the Vivo X Fold+ will come in a new red variant which will have a leather finish. The image above, shared by Jia, gives a glimpse of the red edition of the X Fold+.
It is speculated that the X Fold+ will feature the same set of cameras that are available on the original X Fold. So, it looks like the X Fold+ will have a 16-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel main camera, 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera, 12-megapixel telephoto camera, and 8-megapixel periscope camera.
