Xiaomi CIVI 2 Likely to Launch This Month

The Xiaomi CIVI 2 is reportedly in the works. Xiaomi Mobile Product Manager Lao Wei has hinted about a new product, which appears to be the CIVI 2. Hence, it appears that it may go official as early as this month in China.

Last month, a Xiaomi phone with model number 2209129SC was approved by China’s 3C authority. This device is likely to go official in the Chinese market with the Xiaomi CIVI 2 moniker. It will be the third CIVI-branded phone from the company.

Xiaomi CIVI 1S

Last year, Xiaomi released the first-generation CIVI powered by the Snapdragon 778G mobile platform. Its updated version, named the CIVI 1S with Snapdragon 778G+ onboard, was announced earlier this year. Rumors are rife that the CIVI 2 will be equipped with the latest Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset.

According to a Chinese tipster, the Xiaomi CIVI 2 will be equipped with a 6.56-inch OLED display that offers a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is likely to be a curved edge panel, which will come equipped with an under-display fingerprint scanner.

The SD7G1 chip will be coupled with up to 12 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It will run on the Android 12 OS with MIUI 13 on top. The handset will be backed by a 4,500mAh battery, which will support 67W fast charging.

For selfies, the CIVI 2 will be equipped with a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. Its rear camera setup may comprise of an OIS-assisted 50-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel camera.
