The newly announced Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S flagship phone went out of stock within few seconds when it was made available through first flash sale earlier today. The Chinese manufacturer is also expected to launch the Mi 7 as its second flagship phone of the year. Recent reports have claimed that the Xiaomi Mi 7 may get unveiled by June this year. An industry insider has claimed that the Mi 7 will be a real breakthrough smartphone as it will be using structured light to capture 3D images like the iPhone X.
The tipster has highlighted that the three major features of the Mi 7 would be the OLED screen, structured light for 3D mapping, and wireless charging. It was revealed through the firmware files of the Mi 7 that the OLED screen of the phone will carry support for Always-on Display function. Also, recent reports have claimed that the Mi 7’s display will be equipped with a notch.
The notch will be equipped with structured light which indicates that the Mi 7 will be offering robust 3D facial recognition. If the handset will be equipped with such an advanced 3D face scanning feature, it may not feature under-display fingerprint scanner. After the Mi MIX 2S, the Mi 7 would be the second handset to arrive with Qi wireless charging feature. The Snapdragon 845 chipset will be powering the Mi 7 and it is likely to arrive in up to 8 GB RAM options.
