Alleged Xiaomi MI 8 Appears in Leaked Video Shows Under Display Fingerprint Scanner

Recent reports have revealed that the next major flagship phone from Xiaomi could be Mi 8th Anniversary Edition smartphone. Some sources have claimed that the handset could be called Xiaomi Mi 8. Rumors have already revealed that the Xiaomi Mi 8 will be coming with structured light 3D module which will bring the prowess of 3D facial recognition on the Mi 8. Today, a leaked video of a mysterious phone that is believed to be the Xiaomi Mi 8 has appeared. It shows that the handset is equipped with under-display fingerprint scanner.

As it can be seen in the above video, the unidentified phone has MIUI apps onboard which suggests that it is a Xiaomi phone. Since it supports under-display fingerprint scanning, this could be the advanced Xiaomi Mi 8 smartphone. The Chinese manufacturer is yet to release a smartphone enabled with fingerprint scanner. However, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun had recently claimed on the company’s next flagship will be featuring the advanced fingerprint scanning feature.

Xiaomi is yet to confirm the existence of the Xiaomi MI 8 smartphone. However, fresh information has revealed that the company would be holding an unveil event in Shenzhen, China on May 31. It is likely that the company may debut the Xiaomi Mi 7, Mi 8th Anniversary Edition, Mi Band 3 and some other devices at the event.
