In the past week, several leaked shots had revealed the features that would be arriving on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. It was revealed that it would be Xiaomi’s first phone running on Snapdragon 630 chipset. Earlier today, Chinese sources have revealed a leaked photo showing the box packages of Redmi Note 5A.
As it can be seen in the above image, the phone’s name is mentioned as Note 5A on the red colored boxes. Also, the Xiaomi logo can be seen sitting at the right corner of the box. The Redmi Note 5A name suggests that it could be a lower-end edition of Redmi Note 5. Last year, the Chinese firm had released the Redmi 4A sporting polycarbonate body as a lower-end version of the Redmi 4 smartphone. Hence, it is likely that Redmi Note 5A would be coming with a polycarbonate body which also indicates that it would be coming with a budget friendly price.
There is no confirmation on the authenticity of the above image. Last year, the Redmi Note 4 was introduced in November in China. This year too, the Redmi Note 5 is expected to debut by the same time. However, rumors are also claiming that it may launch as early as this month. The specs of Redmi Note 5A are not known, but the Note 5 is speculated to arrive with 5.5-inch FHD screen, Snapdragon 630 SoC, 3 GB / 4 GB RAM options, 32 GB / 64 GB storage options, 16-megapixel camera, 13-megapixel selfie shooter, MIUI 9 on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and 3,790mAh battery.
