Vivo is working on the S16 series of smartphones for the Chinese market. The rumor mill is gradually spilling more information about the lineup. A new leak by tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed the processors that will drive the S16 lineup.
DCS has revealed that the next S-series phones from Vivo will feature the Snapdragon 870 chipset and the Dimensity 8200 SoC, which is yet to go official. Hence, it appears that the Vivo S16 may arrive with the SD870, while the Pro model could be equipped with the D8200. It is speculated that the S16 Pro will feature the Vivo V1+ image processing chip.
To recall, the Vivo S15 featured the Snapdragon 870, whereas the Vivo S15 Pro came equipped with the Dimensity 8100. The Vivo S16 lineup is said to include an entry-level model called the Vivo S16e. Some reports have claimed that the S16e will be equipped with the Dimensity 1080 chipset. Hopefully, upcoming leaks will reveal more details about the Vivo S16 lineup.
The Vivo S16e is expected to come in black, blue, and purple shades. The vanilla S16 may come in color variants like orange gold, black, and green.
Rumors have it that the Vivo S16 series will not launch this year. It is speculated that Vivo’s next major launch event will be the Vivo X90 series, which is likely to go official in December. Hence, it appears that the S16 lineup may break cover in Q1 2023.
