Black Shark Gaming Phone Goes Official with Snapdragon 845, 8 GB RAM, 18:9 Screen and GamePad

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Black Shark has introduced its first gaming phone in China today. Apart from flagship specs, the Black Shark phone can be used for enjoying high-end games by connecting a Bluetooth-enabled gaming controller.

Specifications and Features

The Black Shark gaming phone has a 5.99-inch FHD+ display that offers an aspect ratio of 18:9. The Snapdragon 845 chipset powers the 6 GB and 8 GB RAM variants of the phone that respectively feature 64 GB and 128 GB storage. For more storage, users can add a microSD card to the phon. It is running on Joy UI, custom version of Android 8.1 Oreo that has got some features from MIUI.

For photography, it features a 12-megapixel + 20-megaapixel dual camera setup. It has a front-facing camera of 20-megapixel. The 4,000mAH battery of the phone is equipped with Quick Charge 3.0 through USB-C

The rear side of the phone bears a unique design with X-shape antenna arrangement for the signal receivers so that users do not encounter connectivity problems while games on it. By connecting a GamePad, user can enjoy immersive gaming experience on it.

Pricing and Availability

The 64 GB and 128 GB Black Shark gaming phone models are respectively priced at 2,999 Yuan (~$477) and 3,499 Yuan (~$557). The gamepad can be purchased separately for 179 Yuan (~$29). The pre-orders of the phone have started in China and it will be available for buying from April 20. It can be bought in colors like Polar Night Black and Sky Gray.
