How to root iNew i2000 in less than an hour

The iNew i2000 is a mid-range Android smartphone released by Chinese manufacturer iNew back in May last year. The iNew i2000 rocks a 5.7″ HD display powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core chipset along with 1GB of RAM. Other key specs include a 8GB internal storage, microSD slot, 8MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 2.600mAh removable battery as well as Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean running out of the box.

Like most other Android smartphones, we can root iNew i2000 rather easily as well. In the following tutorial, I will be guiding you guys on how to root iNew i2000 in less than an hour.

Disclaimer : During the process of rooting, there is always a risk for you to brick your Android device. So if you choose to root your device, you are doing it at your own risk!

Prerequisites before you begin rooting iNew i2000

  1. Download the root package to your PC.
  2. Make sure you have downloaded and installed the required driver on your PC.
  3. Make sure there is at least 80% battery left on your smartphone before begin rooting your device.
  4. Go to Settings > Security > Make sure you have checked on the Unknown Sources checkbox.
  5. Back up the iNew i2000.

Follow the steps below on how to root iNew i2000

  1. First and foremost, if you’ve yet to install the CWM Recovery on your device then head here to follow the step by step guide on how to install it before you continue with the rest of the tutorial.
  2. Once done, connect your device to the PC using an appropriate USB cable.
  3. Transfer the root package from your PC over to the root of your device’s SD card.
  4. Now, turn off your device.
  5. Boot your device into recovery mode by pressing the power and the volume up button.
  6. Inside the recovery menu, select the install zip from sdcard option.
  7. Select the root package from your SD card.
  8. Next, select the YES – Install xxx.zip option.
  9. It will then begin rooting iNew i2000.
  10. After it has complete, it will return back to the same recovery menu.
  11. Finally select the reboot option.
  12. Congratulation! You’ve just rooted iNew i2000!
