Motorola’s Upcoming Flagship Phone Supports Unusual 105Hz Refresh Rate

High-end phones that have launched this year have featured refresh rate options such as 90Hz, 120Hz, and 144Hz. Fresh information reveals that Motorola is working on a flagship phone that may offer an unusual refresh rate of 105Hz. This phone is the mysterious “Nio” codenamed handset that is rumored to launch in the first quarter of 2021.

According to Mishaal Rahmaan from XDA Developers, Motorola is testing a default refresh rate of 105Hz for the Nio handset. However, there is no confirmation whether the device will arrive with support for 105Hz refresh rate.

Before ASUS unveiled the ROG Phone 3 gaming smartphone, it was testing a 160Hz refresh rate mode. However, the handset went official with support for a 144Hz refresh rate. Hence, there is a possibility that the Lenovo-owned firm could only be testing a higher refresh rate mode on Nio and it may release in the market with 90Hz.
