Recently, OPPO’s VP Brian Shen had confirmed that the company’s upcoming OPPO Ace 2 flagship will be announced somewhere in April. However, no specific date was given during that time.
Today, he’s back with a new post which seems to suggest that the OPPO Ace 2 could be announced on April 13th. This means that the device may be announced ahead of the upcoming OnePlus 8 series smartphones which will be launched on April 14th.
Last week, the OPPO Reno Ace 2 had already been certified by the Chinese TENAA authority. It’s official listing revealed that the device will be arriving with a 6.5-inches hole-punched AMOLED display, and will tout a circular camera module on it’s back panel.
Speaking of cameras, the quad-camera setup on it’s flip-side will be home to a 48 megapixels main shooter, 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, 2 megapixels macro camera, as well as a 2 megapixels depth sensor. This will be completed with a 16 megapixels selfie camera at the front.
Under the hood, the OPPO Ace 2 is expected to be driven by the latest Snapdragon 865 SoC which will allow the device to support both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) 5G modes.
This time round, the OPPO Ace 2 will continue to support the 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast-charging and is likely to be able to achieve up to 40W wireless charging as well.
Besides that, OPPO’s Brian Shen recently teased that the OPPO Ace 2 will come with impressive gaming capabilities including a touch sampling rate and smooth refresh rate for it’s front display.
