Red Magic 5G Phone to Feature 4,500mAh Battery and 55W Fast Charge Support

The name of the new Red Magic phone is not known yet. The smartphone is being referred to as Red Magic 5G gaming phone. Some of the key details of the phone have surfaced in recent reports. Today, Nubia President Ni Fei took to Weibo to reveal the battery capacity and fast charging support on the device.

As it can be seen in the screenshot, Fei claims that he has been using the Nubia Red Magic 5G phone that features 144Hz refresh rate display since the Spring Festival holiday in China. He says that the phone offers excellent endurance performance which indicates that despite support 5G and 144HZ refresh rate, it manages to last long.

He has asked users which one of the following combinations do they prefer: 100W fast charging + 4,000mAh battery, 55W fast charging + 4,500mAh battery or 30W rapid charging + 5,000mAh battery.

Nubia had offered the latter on the Red Magic 3 and Red Magic 3s predecessor phones. The 100W fast charging technology is yet to hit mass production stage. Hence, it appears that the Red Magic 5G gaming phone will house a 4,500mAh battery with 55W fast charging. It means when compared to the predecessor model, the upcoming Red Magic phone will have a slightly smaller battery. Despite housing a smaller battery, the phone may offer similar or better performance than the predecessor phone.

It has been already revealed that the Red Magic 5G phone will be equipped with a triple camera setup on its rear with a Sony IMX686 main lens. According to a Chinese tipster, the Red Magic 5G phone will sport a 6.65-inch display full HD+ resolution display and 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The phone will be fueled by Snapdragon 865v mobile platform. It may debut later this month.
