Red Magic 8 Pro to be Unveiled on December 16

Nubia recently confirmed that it will unveil the Nubia Z50 on Dec. 19 in China. Today, it was revealed that its Red Magic 8 Pro will be unveiled tomorrow (Dec. 16) in the home market. The specifications and design of the Red Magic 8 Pro have already been revealed through its TENAA and 3C certifications. It will arrive as the world’s first gaming-focused phone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.

The Weibo post by Red Magic, which carries the below-shown poster, reads, “Red Magic 8 Pro series media advanced testing will be held on December 16th” (machine translation). Hence, it is unclear whether the company will be launching it tomorrow or just confirming some of its key features.

Red Magic 8 Pro Specifications (Rumored)

As per the TENAA listing of the Red Magic 8 Pro, it has a 6.8-inch AMOLED display that offers a 1116 x 2480 pixels resolution. It is expected to arrive in two battery variants, such as 5,000mAh and 6,000mAh. Both variants are expected to support up to 165W fast charging.

The Red Magic 8 Pro will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The device will offer up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage.

The device will come with an 8-megapixel under-display camera, and a 50-megapixel (main) + 8-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 2-megapixel (macro/depth) triple camera unit. It will run on Android 13 OS and come with an in-screen fingerprint scanner.  It measures 163.98 x 76.35 x 8.9mm and weighs around 228 grams.
