Samsung is expected to debut the Galaxy Note 8 phablet in August end this year. According to South Korean publication, the launch event of the Galaxy Note 8 will be held on August 26 and it will be unveiled in New York. However, there is no official confirmation from Samsung on the Galaxy Note 8 launch date.

There were reports that Samsung may debut the Galaxy Note 8 at the IFA 2017 event that will be held in Berlin in September. However, since the iPhone 8 is also poised to get unveiled in the same month, Samsung seemingly wants to unveil its phablet ahead of the official unveil of iPhone 8.

Last year, the Galaxy Note 7 was unveiled on Aug. 2. However, it had to be discontinued because of its faulty battery problem. Since then, the South Korean company has strengthened its quality control process for its smartphones. Speculations have it that the S-Pen totting, Galaxy Note 8 would be coming with a 6.3-inch Infinity Display that will support a QHD+ resolution of 2,960 x 1,440 pixels.

The publication claims that the problem with the placement of on-screen fingerprint reader has not been solved. Hence, it is likely that the fingerprint sensor will be placed on the backside of the Note 8. However, it will be positioned on the center rather than placing it besides the rear cameras.
