Vivo is expected to unveil the Vivo X Fold 5 foldable phone later this month in China. While the company has been teasing its features for the past few days, its launch date still remains a mystery. Today, Vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao released the official camera samples of the device to showcase the prowess of its periscope telephoto camera.

According to Boxiao, the Vivo X Fold 5’s periscope telephoto camera will offer a better photography experience than the X Fold 3 Pro. He added that despite a periscope lens, the device will measure only 4.x mm, making it slimmer than the X Fold 3.

The above camera samples reveal that the Vivo X Fold 5’s periscope camera can be used to capture 1x to 20x telephoto shots. It will also support telephoto macro, as seen in the third camera sample.
While the sample shots are impressive, the brand is yet to reveal the X Fold 5’s full camera specifications. A recent report revealed that the device will feature an OIS-enabled 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom support.

The rear camera setup is also expected to include an OIS-enabled 50-megapixel Sony IMX921 primary camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens with autofocus support. The device is also expected to feature a 32-megapixel camera on the internal screen and another 32-megapixel snapper on the front.
It is also said that the Vivo X Fold 5 will measure only 4.3mm in the unfolded state. When folded, it will have a thickness of 9.33mm.
