Here’s a quick comparison between Honor 30 Pro & Honor V30 Pro

Earlier this week, the Honor 30 flagship series was finally made official via an online launch event. Previously, we’d done a quick comparison on the key specs between the Honor 30 Pro+ and the Huawei P40. Now, we are back with the comparison between the Honor 30 Pro and the Honor V30 Pro as well. Its noteworthy that both devices have around the same price point at launch.

Front Display

Let’s start off with its front display. The newly announced Honor 30 Pro utilizes a FHD+ OLED panel, while the Honor V30 Pro employs an IPS LCD display instead. That’s certainly a considerable upgrade for the Honor 30 Pro, which also supports an in-display fingerprint sensor in place of a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Camera System

Moving on to its camera system, both devices feature a triple-camera setup at the back. Their similarities extend to the common 40 megapixels (Sony IMX600) main camera housed within the triple-camera setup. However, the Honor 30 Pro will feature a buffed up 16 megapixels ultra-wide lens instead of the 13 megapixels ultra-wide lens on the V30 Pro.

Moreover, the 8 megapixels telephoto lens of the Honor 30 Pro has a longer focal length which allows the device to achieve up to 5x optical zoom and as much as 50x digital zoom. On the other hand, the 8 megapixels telephoto lens of the Honor V30 Pro could only achieve up to 3x optical zoom and 30x digital zoom.

As for the selfie cameras, both devices will tout a 32 megapixels main snapper as well as an 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens.

Performance

In terms of internals, the Honor 30 Pro and V30 Pro are both driven by the flagship Kirin 990 SoC which allows the devices to support both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) 5G modes. Similarly, they also comes with 8GB RAM and an option between 128GB/ 256GB onboard storage space.

Battery

Unlike the Honor V30 Pro, the Honor 30 Pro has a slightly smaller 4,000mAh battery as compared to V30 Pro’s 4,100mAh battery. Although both devices are able to support up to 40W fast-charging out of the box, but only the V30 Pro is able to support wireless charging.

With that in mind, will you pick the latest Honor 30 Pro or the V30 Pro?
