Redmi will be announcing the Redmi Note 9 5G series in China on Nov. 26. A landing page of the Redmi Note 9 5G lineup of Xiaomi’s website had hinted that the company will be also announcing new smart products at the event. The rumor mill started speculating that the company may launch the Redmi Watch at the same event. Today, it released a new poster that hints the launch of the Redmi Watch alongside the Note 9 5G series.
The Redmi Watch teaser only suggests that it will be a sporting square-shaped dial. The smartwatch was first spotted at the MIIT certification platform back in September with the REDMITW01 model number.
Later, it was found that Xiaomi is gearing up to launch Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite in some markets outside of China. The Mi Watch Lite’s UL (Demko) certification revealed that its model number is REDMIWT02. It suggested that the Mi Watch Lite could be a rebranded version of the Redmi Watch.
In October, the Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite appeared in the database of FCC certification. The listing revealed the key specs and features of the device. The smartwatch is fitted with a 1.4-inch square-shaped display that supports the auto-brightness feature. The 230mAh battery of the device is equipped with 5W charging support.
When it comes to connectivity, it offers features like Bluetooth 5.1 and built-in GPS. It will come with 50ATM water resistance. The device will offer users numerous fitness modes and it will also carry support for 24-hour heart rate monitoring. At present, there is no word on the pricing of the device.
