Roland Quandt who holds a consistent track record on unearthing leaked information of upcoming smartphones has revealed some official looking renders of its smaller sibling, the Xperia XZ1 Compact.
The renders suggest that the smartphone may sport a plastic chassis with a matte finish. Like the larger XZ1, its smaller edition features a horizontally LED flash for the rear camera. The sides of the smartphone feature a SIM tray slot that may also users to add a microSD card slot, a Power button, volume controllers, a dedicated button for camera, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Previous reports have revealed that it carries a model number of G8441 and its appearance on benchmarking sites have revealed that it would be featuring an HD resolution supporting screen of 4.6 inches. The Snapdragon 835 SoC and 4 GB RAM will be present under the hood of the smartphone. It is expected to arrive preinstalled with Android 8.0 Oreo. Other rumored features of the Xperia XZ1 Compact include a 19-megapixel rear camera and a 2,800mAh battery.
It is rumored to hit the U.K. market with a pricing of 499 GBP (~$640) and is rumored to be available in colors like Black, Horizon Blue, Snow Silver and Twilight Pink. The Sony Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact are slated to debut on Sept. 1 at the IFA 2017 tech trade show in Berlin, Germany.
